@ Julie: No, I don't live near Bonn, I live in the south of Munich, to Bonn I have to go ca. 600 km.
@ Bobbi: - where: In Dec. 2009 in Bonn was a great Lüpertz-exhibition, and my wife and I decided to go there and have a look at. We were very satisfied having done so, it was wonderful. - what: Lüpertz is a painter and a sculptor at the same time, he is very well known in the meantime, I would say, he is kind of ingenious, he is brilliant. - why: Cannot say, why I love the art of Lüpertz, may have to do with this: his artwork is not very "realistic", but it's very, very impressive if you can really see it.
I'd like to write more of this, but as you will have remarked, English is not my motherlanguage, and sometimes it's rather hard for me to express my opinions, especially in a matter that's for my only hobby or so...
If there are further precise questions, I'll try to do my best in answering as far as I'll be able.
It was forbidden to do photos in the exhibition. So I took Mercurius/Hermes which stands at the Telecom-center in Bonn, and Apollo was located outside the exhibition-rooms in the entrance-hall.
I like this shot a lot, and the art. I am going to try to find out more about the artist. Tony - your English is fine! Don't let it stop you from expressing yourself.
I like the way you've "posed" the statue; and the blue sky is reflected in her eyes. (PS: Don't worry about your English--the language of photography needs no interpretation!)
I think we all understand you well. The art is really cool. I wonder if there is any of it here in the states. We all need to check it out. There is an entry in Wikipedia too.
That is a terrific shot, Tony. I like the subtlety of the reflections in the window as a background for the sculpture.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an interesting take on the classical gods. I hope you have more to show us.
Do you live near Bonn? I was there once!
I would love more comments - where, what, why - that sort of thing. I know the photo should speak for itself but I always wonder.

ReplyDeleteTony your photo is wonderful, thankyou for showing such interesting pieces of art from your side of the world.
ReplyDeleteQuite the piercing gaze from those eyes but rather a subtle smile. The background allows for focus on the sculpture.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are wonderful. I think you are doing just great with the language.
