@ Gisele: I added a second picture that shows more in detail the costumes. To be honest: It is not a pilgrimage in the real sense, but horses from the surroundings do assemble, then together with the priest there is a prayer and the horses (and the horsemen and -women, of course) before leaving are blessed.
Reminds me of Knights and Pages on the way to a Pageant or something!
ReplyDeleteI could use a pilgrimage! Pretty flowers in the foreground.
ReplyDeleteLovely image and interesting explanation.
ReplyDeleteLove the composition of this....the green grass w/ the flowers leading up to the celebration..this is a bright and fun image!
ReplyDeleteFun shot! Did you manage to get any photos of the costumes? I had never heard of this pilgrimage - am always learning something new on these blogs!

ReplyDeleteThanks for adding the second image. It's nice to see traditions from other places. I love the costumes and the cute miniature horse.
ReplyDeleteSuch crisp shots both of them, well done! A blessing of the animals then? I like the guy on the mountain bike along for the ride.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have centuries of tradition...especially such a colorful and fun one. Love that last shot also...
